I have a brand new client and some assessments would give me more information about what they struggle with! Or, my current client seems to be doing better, but I’m only with them for 50 minutes each week or less. So how do I know if what we are doing is really affecting their life??
bridge provides a list of free open-sourced and validated assessment measures. That way, you can get an objective understanding of how things are going in therapy along with your client’s valuable self-report. Or you might get helpful info on new client difficulties to inform treatment or other needs.
Assessment measures are intended for initial information. They inform greater understanding of client progress to help inform treatment decisions. Results do not constitute sole evidence for diagnosis. Per best practices, they should be considered along with other information. Use of these measures implies responsible and ethical use by the clinician. Instructions on use are provided with each assessment measure.

Assessments here consist of free and open-sourced measures, and that meet psychometric standards of reliability in psychometric research. Reliability (e.g., showing consistent scores each time an assessment is completed) is important to support confidence that an assessment measures what it claims to measure (that is, it shows “validity”). We do not list certain assessments for multiple reasons: 1. We plan to add it later. 2. Companies claim them as proprietary and charge clinicians. 3. A given measure demonstrates poor reliability or validity.
